Who can apply

TISSNET 2019 Eligibility

Different M.A. Programmes, for example M.A. (HRM) at TISSNET commands a reputation as high as MBA or PGDM in HR from a top B-school in India. The basic Eligibility criterion for admission to M.A. programmes at TISS is a bachelor’s degree with minimum 3 years duration or its equivalent (under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+2+1 year bridge course pattern of study or any other pattern fulfilling the mandatory requirements of 15 years formal education) from a recognized university. This is also the minimum eligibility requirement to apply for TISSNET 2019.   

 

Instructions for Determining Eligibility to Apply:

  1. ‘ Pass Class’ in the Bachelor’s Degree pursued by the applicant will be taken for determining his/her eligibility.
  2. Candidates who are in the final year of their Bachelor’s Degree programme, but have not passed in all the courses ( main/major/subsidiary, etc.) of the first and second years ( if the Degree is of 3 years duration) and first, second and third years (if the Degree is of 4 years duration) on the day of applying for the programme are not eligible to apply for any of the Master’s Degree programmes offered by the Institute.
  3. Candidates who have been declared as failed in the final year examination are not eligible to apply for any of the Master’s Degree Programmes of the Institute, unless they pass their Bachelor’s Degree examination on the day of applying for any of the programmes.
  4. Eligibility, once determined on the basis of the information given by the candidates in the Application Form, shall be final for the purpose of test/interview/selection. However, in case it is found that the information furnished by a candidate is incorrect or misleading or ineligibility being detected before or after the test/interview/selection/admission, his/her candidature will be cancelled.
  5. If a provisionally admitted student fails in the final year of his/her Bachelor’s Degree Examination and even if he/she has re-evaluation at the university/college, he/she will not be allowed to continue the programme as the offer of provisional admission stands automatically cancelled on his/her failure in the final year examination.

General Eligibility
Only those Candidates who are able to complete all the requirements of their final year Bachelor’s Degree examinations by first week of June 2019 are eligible to apply to all the programme.

 

Till the time, the candidate submits result of the final year degree examination, admission to any of the Master’s Degree Programmes of the Institute will be provisional. The results of the final examination have to be submitted before September 30, 2019. Those who fail to do so, the provisional admission for them stands cancelled.

 TISS NET Application Procedure

  • Candidates are required to apply online through the E-application process only.
  • Candidates can apply for a maximum of 3 programmes across any two of the TISS Campuses and other Centre locations.  
  • Candidates should carefully read through the eligibility criteria mentioned here before filling up the form.

Important Points to Note

  • Payment done through any mode other than the above modes is not acceptable and the application will be rejected. No communication to this effect will be sent to such candidates.
  • Candidates can apply for a maximum of three programmes and pay for each of those programmes in one online form. Candidates should not fill more than one form. If a candidate is found to have filled more than one online form, all her/his applications will be cancelled.
  • Candidates applying online will be asked to choose between two modes of payment ‘Cash’ or ‘Payment Gateway’ in the online application form. If the preferred mode of payment is ‘Cash’, a payment challan has to be downloaded from the ‘Download Challan’ tab. The payment challan will have 3 copies. Deposit the cash amount mentioned on the challan in any branch of State Bank of India. The bank will return two copies of the challan (Student Copy and TISS Copy) with the banks seal, signature and journal number on it. Candidates have to scan the ‘TISS Copy’ of the challan, login back to the online application system and upload it.

General Instructions about Applying:

  1. Candidates can apply for a maximum of three programmes across any two of the TISS Campuses and other Centre locations. They are advised to make their choice of programmes carefully after reading the programme descriptions. Change of programmes will not be allowed once admission is completed.
  2. Candidates are requested to carefully read through the eligibility criteria mentioned here before filling up the form.
  3. Unemployed candidates, whose parent’s / guardian’s annual income from all the sources for the Financial Year 2017-18 is less than Rs.2.5 Lakhs for SC/ST and Rs.1 lakh for OBC(NC) are required to pay Rs.250/- as Concessional Application Fee for each programme. However, they should upload the necessary certificates.
  4. Candidates have to upload / attach relevant certificates strictly in the prescribed format. The Institute also takes steps to have the Caste/Tribe/Non-creamy layer/ Income certificates verified by the competent authorities post-admission and those found to have submitted manipulated certificates at any stage of their study, will be asked to leave the programme.
  5. Candidates are required to pay the Application Fee amount for every programme she/he applies for. For SC/ST/OBC(NC) candidates, the application fee is Rs. 250/- per programme + bank charges.
  6. A candidate can apply for multiple programmes and pay for each of those programmes in ONE online form. Candidates SHOULD NOT fill more than one form. If a candidate is found to have filled more than one online form, all her/his applications will be cancelled.

Uploading the Certificates 

  1. Candidates applying through the online application form will have to upload the certificates mentioned above. Those who are submitting a hard copy of the application form should post along with the application form the above mentioned documents attested by a School Headmaster or a Principal of College or a Gazetted Officer (refer to Reservation Section on the admission website). Requests received without the above Certificates will be rejected and no communication will be sent in this regard.
  2. SC/ST candidates whose annual family income is <=250000 (2.5 lac) and OBC(NC) candidates whose annual family income is <=100000 have to upload Income certificate for the Financial Year 2017-2018 issued by Revenue Officer

Structure and Pattern of TISS

TISSNET Pattern 2019

TISS NET 2019 is scheduled on Sunday, January 13, 2019 from 2PM to 3.40 PM as a computer based test. TISS Net 2019 exam pattern offers admission to various management programmes at different campuses of Tata Institute of Social Sciences. It will be an online CBT exam comprising MCQ type questions. TISSNET exam pattern has remained same for last many years. 
 
Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) conducts TISS NET in 39-40 centres located in different parts of the country. There are 100 questions in MCQ format in TISSNET 2019. The duration of the test is also 100 minutes. Candidates get 1 mark for every correct answer. There is no negative marking in TISSNET 2019 for wrong answers. The exam is of 100 marks.
 

TISSNET 2019: Key Changes

  • TISSNET 2019 exam will not have any negative marking question this year
  • TISSNET 2019 exam will have a single question paper for all the programmes
  • There will be 100 questions for a duration of 100 minutes in TISSNET 2019
  • TISSNET 2019 scoring pattern is changed. General Awareness Section has 40 marks; English Proficiency has 30 marks; Maths and Logical Reasoning section carries 30 marks

Highest cut off is applied for MA in HRM & LR in TISSNET and goes in the range of 65 to 69.

General Awareness (GK) in TISSNET 2019 will be of 40 marks and is proposed to consist of 40 questions in MCQ format. The GK syllabus of TISSNET will cover the following important topics:

TISSNET Cut off

TISSNET 2019 cut off for shortlisting the candidates for final admission round is based on the overall and sectional scores obtained in TISSNET exam. The cut off of TISSNET MA 2019 admission will vary from programme to programme. For the MA programmes in HR and other streams, the Cut off of TISSNET 2019 is expected to remain high. The Result of TISSNET 2019 will be declared in January 2019 last week in evening hours.

TISSNET 2019 Exam Cut off
TISS offers number of MA programmes and the programme wise cut off in TISSNET 2019 in shortlisting process is different. Although cut offs do not go very high given the question types and the TISSNET exam pattern, candidates should carefully exercise their programme preferences while filling up the TISSNET 2019 application form.
